Olivia Dhaliwal, a fourth-year medical student, was named a Pisacano Leadership Foundation 2024 scholar in family medicine.
Prior to beginning medical school, Dhaliwal worked with Teach for America, through which she contributed to efforts to cure Hepatitis C on the Rosebud Indian Reservation. She also led a reservation-wide yoga program for women, elders, incarcerated individuals and youth.
She also has served on the board of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians, and was elected student delegate to the National Congress with the American Academy of Family Physicians from 2022–23.
The Pisacano Leadership Foundation program offers medical students and residents the opportunity to pursue leadership training to support the growth of the family medicine specialty.
