The Women’s and Gender Studies Program, Department of Sociology and Flora Stone Mather Center for Women will present a discussion on “Guyland: Masculinity, Gendered Violence and the Perilous World Where Boys Become Men” April 17 in Clark Hall 309, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Michael Kimmel, SUNY Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Gender Studies and executive director of the Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities at Stony Brook University, will lead the talk.
Kimmel, a leading researcher and writer on men and masculinity, is the author or editor of more than 20 volumes, including Manhood in America: A Cultural History (1996).
