Scimago, an independent research group, recently ranked the Case Western Reserve University-based journal Pathogens and Immunity 40th in the world among 324 infectious diseases journals—a ranking that places the publication in the top quartile.
Scimago develops the Scimago Journal and Country Rank (SJR) based on the data available in the Scopus database. The SJR is a measure of citation and reputation.
Founded in 2016, Pathogens and Immunity is an open access journal established by an endowment from the Fasenmyer Foundation with the purpose of serving the needs of biomedical researchers (rather than those of journal publishers) by streamlining the processes for submission, review and publication. Over 140 top researchers serve as the journal’s associate editors and the journal is free and open access and charges no fees to authors.
Michael Lederman, professor emeritus of medicine, is editor-in-chief of the journal.
