Kelvin Smith Library, in partnership with the Social Justice Institute, will host a photography exhibit this fall featuring work by Donald Black Jr. “Uncontained: They Wanna See Me Fall.”
Featuring 20 photographs, this exhibit is informed by Black’s experience with the evolution of bike riding in Cleveland. This body of work focuses on the freedom of creative expression for Black men and boys riding pedal and dirt bikes. Black sees beautiful and necessary innocent rage being expressed by riders as he captures them popping wheelies and building bonds through bikes.
An opening reception will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the library’s Dampeer Room on the second floor. Register for the reception.
The exhibit will be on view through Nov. 15.
