This year, the Case Western Reserve University Compliance Program will host monthly sessions called “Ask Anything” to connect faculty and staff members to various offices and their resources. These sessions are intended to serve as a resource to enhance awareness of and access to what different university offices offer to build collaboration and connection across schools and departments.

Sept. 6—“Digital Accessibility”
Presenter: La Tasha Simms from [U]Tech
This session will feature an overview of CWRU’s digital accessibility policy, support and services for the semester.

Oct. 18—“Anything You Ever Wanted to Know About CWRU Catering, Alcohol, and Travel But Were Afraid to Ask Auxiliary Services”
Presenters: Mary Luberger and Michael Kurutz from Auxiliary Services
This presentation will cover catering and alcohol policies and procedures. Attendees also will get details on Enterprise CarShare and AMEX.
Nov. 15—“Student Code of Conduct & Undergraduate Academic Integrity”
Presenters: George O’Connell, Anthony Polito and April Dix from Student Conduct & Community Standards
Attendees will learn about how the office strives to take an educational approach with all students and to help students make good decisions while maintaining accountability and community standards for the university.

Dec. 6—“Responsible Employees: What CWRU Employees Need to Know”
Presenters: Office of Equity staff
Learn how to be a responsible employee and what must be reported to equity. This presentation will include an overview of discrimination and harassment, including sexual harassment

Jan. 24—”Helpful Resources and Guidance for Faculty & Staff”
Presenters: Dean of Students Staff
This session will include an overview of the Dean of Students Office within the Division of Student Affairs. Attendees will learn about useful resources and receive guidance to help faculty and staff members interact with students experiencing challenges or difficulties. In addition to providing advice for helping students in distress and managing disruptive behavior, this session will also address dean’s office services, reporting systems, basic needs support and more.
Feb. 7—“Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)”
Presenters: Amy Hammett, Carlier Myers and Lisa Palazzo from the University Registrar
This session will include an overview of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and an opportunity for an informal Q&A session.

March 13—“Family Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA)”

This session will feature an overview of The Family and Medical Leave Act, including what it is and how it works.

April 17—“Approval Processes for Academic Programs and Faculty Appointments”
Presenters: Don Feke and Chuck Rozek from the Office of the Provost
This session will cover the process required to establish new academic programs or modify existing offerings. Feke and Rozek will review the approval steps—both internal and external to CWRU—and describe the steps necessary for gaining approval of all types of faculty and administrative appointments.

May 15—“University Benefits Back to the Basics”
