The School of Medicine’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusive Excellence and Office of the Dean invite members of the Case Western Reserve University community to a Juneteenth celebration Friday, June 23, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Biomedical Research Building lounge.
Gregory Hall, Founder and Board President of the National Institute for African American Health, will give a hybrid presentation titled “Urban Health Care Equity” from noon to 1 p.m. Hall will discuss ways higher education institutes and their hospital affiliates can train faculty, staff and students to better understand the root causes of inequalities in healthcare and how to take action to dismantle inequities in healthcare delivery.
Following the presentation, guests are united to a reception to enjoy live jazz music by the Good Vibes Ban, poetry and a sampling of soul food prepared by Cleveland’s own Chef Eric Wells (Skye LaRae’s Culinary Services).
