Case Western Reserve University’s Interactive Commons (IC) invites all members of the campus community to the second annual IC Fellows Showcase Tuesday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Tinkham Veale University Center, Ballrooms B and C.
This open house-style event will include HoloLens demonstrations and attendees will have the opportunity to get a sneak peak at the newest fleet of mixed-reality applications developed by the IC and the second IC Fellows Cohort.
The applications include walking through a blood vessel, holding medieval objects in a domestic chapel, responding to economic market forces in real-time, assembling a semiconductor, and more. Light refreshments will be available.
The IC Fellows Cohort started in fall 2021 with support from the Office of the Provost in an effort to expand access to mixed-reality educational programming across the university campus. The instructors in the IC fellows cohort have become fluent in the application and best practices of mixed reality as a teaching tool while working with the IC team to design, build and execute customized HoloLens apps for their courses.
This year’s IC Fellows cohort is composed of the following individuals::
- Allison Hess-Dunning (electrical, computer and systems engineering; Case School of Engineering);
- Anirban Sen Gupta (biomedical engineering; Case School of Engineering);
- Xiong (Bill) Yu (civil and environmental engineering; Case School of Engineering);
