“What’s Your Hunch?”

The Marian K. Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy and the Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship will team up for a discussion with esteemed presenters Shanina Knighton and Margaret Fitzgerald, who will explore their experiences and share how they used intuition as a key part of their career decision making.

Titled “What’s Your Hunch?” this will be held Thursday, March 30, from 10 to 11 a.m. in Samson Pavilion, Room 103 A/B. Attendees will learn how following a hunch and leading with entrepreneurial thinking can create impact.

About the speakers

Knighton is an associate research professor in the school of Nursing and adjunct professor at the Case School of Engineering. She’s the first nurse to have an appointment in the School of Engineering at CWRU and her research focuses on infection prevention self-management of patients and technology-based interventions. Knighton’s infographics with prevention tips were featured in prominent media outlets such as Forbes, FOX News and Self Magazine

Fitzgerald, is the founder and president of Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, an international provider of nurse practitioner certification preparation and continuing education for healthcare providers. Fitzgerald is an internationally recognized presenter and has taught graduate-level pharmacology courses for nurse-practitioner students. She has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties’ Lifetime Achievement Award and the Loretta C. Ford Lifetime Achievement Award.
