NewsweekNina Ross, assistant professor at the School of Medicine, said post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is triggered by a traumatic event, such as actual or threatened death, serious injury or violence. “Purposefully playing a prank on someone because of their PTSD is cruel because this exploits a person’s mental health vulnerabilities for entertainment purposes,” Ross said.
