Department of Music faculty members Ryan Scherber and Paul Ferguson hosted the Ohio Private College Instrumental Conductors Association (OPCICA) annual Honors Festival Weekend Jan. 21–22.
This event, after having been canceled in 2021 and 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, brought together students and faculty from 19 private colleges and universities across the state of Ohio (including 12 students from CWRU).
Attendees visited the CWRU campus for two days of intense music study culminating in a final performance at the Maltz Performing Arts Center. Participating students performed in either the Honors Jazz Ensemble or Honors Concert Band. CWRU’s own Symphonic Winds also performed at the concert as a demo performance from the hosting ensemble.
