Law’s Andrew Zashin reminds parents to carry documentation of relationship when flying with children

Flying alone with your kids? Make sure you have proof of your relationship
The New York Times (subscription required): Andrew Zashin, adjunct professor at the School of Law, said that parents who are getting divorced or are in a custody dispute need to carry documentation when flying with children—parental custody doesn’t automatically guarantee parents the right to get on an airplane with their children. “There’s a difference between custody rights and the rights of possession,” he said. “Just because you have custody rights doesn’t mean you have the right to do anything you want with a child.”
