The Center for International Affairs will celebrate International Education Week Nov. 14–18. International Education Week is a joint initiative between the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education designed to promote programs that prepare students for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences.
Case Western Reserve hosts more than 2,200 degree-seeking international students from 101 countries and more than 30% of our undergraduate students have an educational experience abroad as they work toward their degrees. We have formal relationships with more than 200 educational institutions around the world, creating a truly global research and educational experience for faculty, staff, and students.
During International Education Week, the Center for International Affairs celebrates our global community. The celebration begins with the Office of International Students Services handing out free coffee and apples today (Nov. 14) at 9 a.m. on the Binary Walkway to faculty, staff and students (if it rains, the event will be moved indoors to the Tomlinson Hall lobby).
Also today, faculty and staff members who have participated in the Fulbright program are invited to a Fulbright Scholar reception hosted by the Center for International Affairs in Tomlinson Hall lobby from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
On Friday, Nov. 18, the Office of Education Abroad will host a Passport Photo Drive to take and print passport photos for free. This event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and again from 1 to 3 p.m. in Tomlinson Hall, Room 135. A study abroad advisor will be on hand to answer quick questions from students.
Visit the International Education Week website for more information about these and other events during the week.
