The Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship will host an Entrepreneurship Speaker Series event with Roseanne Wincek, co-founder and managing director of Renegade Partners. Wincek will present “Building a Career in Venture Capital” Thursday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m.
Wincek holds an MBA from Stanford University, as well as a master’s in biophysics and a bachelor’s in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. She serves on the boards of Renegade portfolio companies Spekit, Nate, Rewire, LaHaus, Daily and Auxilius.
Prior to starting Renegade, Wincek was a partner at IVP, a later-stage venture capital firm. At IVP, she invested across enterprise and consumer in companies such as Glossier, Compass (COMP), MasterClass, Wise (LSE:WISE), Looker (Acquired by GOOG) and Motive. She continues to serve on the board of MasterClass, where she had led the Series C and D.
Wincek started her venture career at Canaan Partners, where she invested in companies such as MetaCloud (Acquired by CSCO), Unifi Software (Acquired by Boomi/Dell) and Turo.
Her tech career began when she dropped out of her PhD program to co-found imthemusic, building apps on the early Facebook platform. She was also a product manager at NextBio (Acquired by Ilumina).
