As the spring semester comes to a close, the For a Better CWRU Task Force encourages members of the campus community to visit the For a Better CWRU webpage to learn more about progress made since the fall.
“We appreciate the hard work of all of the students, faculty and staff who helped make a difference and helped to advance a true culture of respect,” task force executive board co-chairs Rob Solomon, vice president for inclusion, diversity and equal opportunity, and Lou Stark, vice president for student affairs, said in a statement.
For the next phase of efforts to advance the proposals developed during the 2020-2021 academic year, the task force is transitioning to an advisory group. Its membership will include representation from the Undergraduate Student Government, Graduate Student Council and Undergraduate Diversity Collaborative.
Going forward, this advisory group will collaborate with the Dean of Students’ office to continue to make progress around topics ranging from racial justice and gender equality to mental health and disability resources. During the 2022-23 academic year, advisory group members will engage with departments, offices, faculty and staff to continue the work to make Case Western Reserve University as inclusive and welcoming as it has the potential to be.
The advisory group will provide additional updates this fall.
