Sharona Hoffman, the Edgar A. Hahn Professor of Law and co-director of the Law-Medicine Center at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, is a visiting scholar at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Department of Bioethics in Washington, D.C., during her spring semester sabbatical.
As a visiting scholar, Hoffman is researching and writing about the legal and ethical challenges of cognitive decline among healthcare providers and about privacy and data security. Hoffman, who also is a professor in the bioethics department at Case Western Reserve’s School of Medicine, is participating in all department activities, including teaching, commenting on colleagues’ works in progress, and attending numerous bioethics workshops and seminars.
