Renowned and award-winning British composer Cecilia McDowall will join the Cleveland Chamber Choir, Case Western Reserve University Concert Choir, and Youngstown State University Dana Chorale for a series of master classes and rehearsals, culminating in performances titled “Cecilia and Her World: Music of Cecilia McDowall and Britten, Tallis and Stravinsky.”
The first of two performances will take place Saturday, Feb. 26, at 6:15 p.m. in Amasa Stone Chapel. A second performance with the Kent State University Chorale and Cleveland State University Chorale will take place Sunday, Feb. 27. A pre-concert talk, titled “In Conversation: Cecilia McDowall with Charles Edward McGuire,” will be presented by Charles Edward McGuire from Oberlin College & Conservatory, and Cecilia McDowall 45 minutes before the performance. This talk will be available via livestream.
