Twenty-six employees complete pilot skill development program with Kelly Services

Twenty-six Case Western Reserve University employees completed the pilot program, including (bottom row, from left): Vernall Henderson-Willis, Laurie McCombs and Jewelina Jones, and (top row, from left): Terry Thomas, Shanyn Fleming, Helen Haynes-Whitehead, Richard Ksiazka, Kevin Dwenger, Daryl Costanzo and Fredrick Lewis.

Last year, the university announced it would partner with Kelly Services to provide employees free opportunities to develop skills to meet demands of today’s workplace. At the request of John D. Wheeler, senior vice president for administration, the agency created a five-course program for staff to learn subjects ranging from computer proficiency and customer service skills to standard business practices and leadership competencies.

Last week, 26 employees received their certificates after completing the pilot program.

Information Technology Services donated a laptop to recognize the employees’ hard work, which was won by Sheila Wright, senior buyer in material support.
