All members of the campus community are invited to celebrate International Education Week with the Center for International Affairs today (Nov. 15) through Friday, Nov. 19.
International Education Week is a national celebration of the benefits of international education and global exchange. The joint initiative of the U.S. Departments of State and Education is an effort to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences in the United States. All week long, you can learn about the impact international education has here at CWRU through the personal accounts of students, faculty and staff.
The Center for International Affairs is kicking off the celebration today (Nov. 15) at 9 a.m. by handing out free coffee, tea and apples on the Binary Walkway.
Students can explore the various opportunities to study abroad along with their peers on a program created and led by CWRU faculty during a school break. A study abroad faculty-led information session will take place Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 3 p.m. in Tomlinson Hall, Room 135, highlighting these short-term programs.
Students can get their passport photo taken and printed for free at the study abroad passport drive Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. in Tomlinson Hall, Room 135. Any students planning to study abroad in the next year are encouraged to attend, as passport processing is expected to take 18 weeks instead of six. Students who attend will have a chance to win some study abroad gear, including a Fjallraven Kanken backpack, passport holder and travel journal.
