Deepak Sarma, professor of religious studies and philosophy, traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah, for the Salt Lake City Public Library’s annual Cultural and Religious Pluralism Conference on Dec. 1.
He was the keynote speaker, delivering a lecture titled “Diwali and Its Pluralistic Approach to the Global World.” In addition, he spoke on a panel discussion titled “Building a Community of Global Faith.”
This event was dedicated to exposing the public to new ideas about religion in the modern world. The theme centered on understanding Hindu practice and belief, particularly in context of the Western faith traditions prevalent in the area.
