M.C. Terry Hokenstad, Distinguished University Professor, recently returned from a week in Russia, where he consulted with members of the Russian Academy of Education and the Accreditation Board of Social Pedagogy and Social Work. Russian social work education recently has been restructured to provide two levels of professional preparation for social workers.
Hokenstad, the Ralph S. and Dorothy P. Schmitt Professor in the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, also lectured on the Social Work Global Agenda and Disaster Management Education for Social Workers at Tolstoy University in Tula. While there, he provided program consultation and a seminar on curriculum building at the master’s level.
