All aboard: Greater Cleveland RTA adds transit rider to board of trustees
Crain’s Cleveland Business: Rob Fischer, associate professor at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences and co-director of the Center on Urban Poverty and Community Development, weighed in on a move by the Greater Cleveland Regional Transportation Authority to place a young Latino woman, downtown resident and public transit rider on the group’s board of trustees. “The value of community voice has certainly become more important over the last 20 years, I’d say,” Fischer said. “But is it making a difference? I think it has, but it has also led to a lot of tokenism.”
