Justine Renauld, a postdoctoral scholar at the School of Medicine, recently received the American Hearing Research Foundation grant.
Renauld received her PhD from the University of Liege (Belgium) in 2017 for her work on the development of the cytoskeleton in the supporting cells of the organ of Corti. She is completing her postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Martin Basch, assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology.
Renauld’s current work is focused on the development of a cell therapy to replace the missing intermediate cells in congenital strial deafness syndromes such as Waardenburg syndrome.
