Patients diagnosed with comorbid physical and mental health conditions who smoke need to quit smoking for the benefit of both their comorbid condition outcomes and their long-term health. Yet, systemic barriers prevent many patients from getting the evidence-based tobacco treatment that they need.
The Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods (PRCHN) will host a seminar to discuss the barriers and potential solutions to increasing the availability of successful, evidence-based tobacco treatment programs in health care systems. Areas of potential future research will be discussed.
This PRCHN Seminar Series event, titled “Addressing Barriers to Tobacco Treatment for People with Comorbid Conditions in the Health Care Setting,” will be held Wednesday, Feb. 10, at noon. Register for the session.
The PRCHN Seminars aim to foster conversations and new collaborations, create opportunities to address health concerns, and aid in the work to achieve health equity in our communities. All community members and organizations, CWRU staff, faculty and students are invited to attend.
