Interim President Scott Cowen co-authored a piece for HigherEdJobs about campus leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cowen and co-author Heide Winston, director of communications and civic engagement in the Office of the President Emeritus and an adjunct instructor at Tulane University, explained the fatigue many are feeling as the pandemic continues and how leadership can approach the situation to help those on campus navigate the challenging times. They encouraged leading by example, focusing on silver linings and resilience, letting faculty, staff and students lead, building a strong community, and being transparent and communicating often.
