Improve your health during annual benefits fair Nov. 14-15

At Case Western Reserve, election season is going just a few weeks longer.

On Nov. 14 and 15, the Office of Human Resources will hold its annual benefits fair in Thwing Center ballroom, giving employees a chance to make their choice on health insurance options. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 14 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 15, employees can hear from the insurance carriers about why their option is a suitable fit. In addition, benefits staff will be on hand to answer any questions that might arise.

Then, individuals can step right over to the computer kiosks to make their elections on site.

During the two-day event, employees can take advantage of other opportunities to improve their health. Free flu vaccines will be offered to all staff, with no appointment necessary. To receive flu shots, employees must review a vaccine information sheet and complete a consent form prior to receiving the shot. They also will need to present their Case Western Reserve IDs when checking in.

In addition, employees can receive free health screenings, including measures of blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose, among other factors. These health screenings will be offered on a walk-in basis throughout the fair and can be used to complete the confidential health risk appraisal, a new initiative of the university. Individuals who complete an HRA have the opportunity to win prizes like Visa gift cards, 1-2-1 Fitness Center memberships and iPads. More information about the appraisals will be available during the benefits fair as well.

Other highlights of the benefits fair will include giveaways and the Staff Advisory Council’s 12th annual basket raffle.
