Senior mechanical engineering major Matheus Fernandes recently presented an award-winning poster at the COMSOL Multiphysics Conference in Boston. Fernandes’ poster, titled “Wind Flow Modeling of Area Surrounding the Case Western Reserve University Wind Turbine,” won the “Popular Choice” award.
Approximately 600 people attended the conference. After receiving more than 200 submissions, event organizers invited 60 projects to be presented. Fernandes was the only undergraduate student selected to present at the conference.
“Those who I presented to expressed their appreciation for my project as well as for CWRU’s initiative to develop alternative energy research,” Fernandes said.
