To recognize Women’s History Month as well as yesterday’s International Women’s Day, we’re highlighting the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, which opened in 2004 and serves as a resource and starting point for women’s issues on campus.
The center, which aims to empower all women and promote gender equity and inclusion throughout campus, is an inclusive and welcoming space that supports the diverse experiences and aspirations of all women. Led by Director Angela Clark-Taylor, the center provides resources and educational programming to enrich the academic, professional, and personal lives of women in the CWRU community, promoting their success and well-being.
Here are some of the center’s educational programming events taking place in March:
- The Ellipsis Institute for Women of Color in the Academy annual conference will be held March 25-26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Linsalata Alumni Center. The event, which is free and open to the public, features lectures and networking opportunities. Get more details and register to attend.
- The 2020 Cleveland Women in Leadership Symposium, featuring opening remarks by President Barbara R. Snyder, takes place Wednesday, March 25, from 8 a.m. to noon in Ballrooms B and C of Tinkham Veale University Center. The event’s theme is “Creating a League of Your Own: Women in Action.” Tickets are $149. Get ticket information and other details.
