Funeral services have been scheduled for Edward Regis McFadden Jr., professor emeritus of medicine at the School of Medicine and former chief of the pulmonary and critical care divisions at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and the MetroHealth System, who passed away Feb. 3.
Regis served on the School of Medicine faculty for 28 years, including as the Argyl J. Beams Professor of Medicine, following time as an associate professor at Harvard Medical School.
A world expert in asthma and asthma triggers, he authored more than 482 scientific publications, revolutionizing understanding of the disease.
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 14, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Schulte & Mahon-Murphy Funeral Home (5252 Mayfield Road, Lyndhurst). A funeral mass will take place Saturday, Feb. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at Church of the Gesu (2470 Miramar Blvd., University Heights).
