Faculty: Applications open for UCITE Nord Grants

Thanks to a bequest from the members of the family of the late Evan Nord, UCITE will offer a new program of Nord Grants to faculty members at Case Western Reserve University.

The grants are available for a wide range of activities, with the duration of grants lasting one year, with the possibility of an extension. There are no lower or upper limits to individual awards, but the range of sizes for past awards can be seen here.

Requests for awards should be in the form of a PDF letter (at most two pages long), plus a detailed budget and a descriptive justification. The letter should be co-signed by the department chair (or an associate dean in those schools without a department structure). More ambitious projects may be required to provide more details.

There are no deadlines for proposals, so faculty members can submit proposals as the need arises. However, for administrative convenience, awards will be made starting on Jan. 1 and July 1 of each year, and in order to allow for sufficient time for the review process and paperwork to be completed for the grants to take effect, proposals should be submitted by May 1 to meet the July 1 start date and by Nov. 1 to meet the Jan. 1 start date.
