Angela Clark-Taylor, director of the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, was asked to chair the National Women’s Center Summit/Women’s Center Pre-Conference through the National Women’s Studies Association (NWSA) for 2020 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is the only national professional conference dedicated to women’s centers.
NWSA is the national professional and scholarly organization for women, gender and sexuality studies as well as women’s centers. The summit and pre-conference bring together a team of women’s center professionals for a day and a half of professional development through presentations, roundtables, panels and poster sessions on women’s center work and knowledge.
As chair, Clark-Taylor will head the effort to bring the conference group together to select proposals and develop the schedule, logistics and more. She was selected by the members of the Women’s Center Subcommittee, headed by Amanda Griffin Linsenmeyer of the University of Colorado, Boulder, and Jennifer Graham of Georgia College. Clark-Taylor also will be a featured speaker at the Northwestern University’s Women’s Center Symposium in March about CWRU’s center and these efforts with the national organization.
