Members of the Case Western Reserve University can join the Office of Research and Technology Management for a viewing of Miss Evers’ Boys and to hear from special guest David Hodge, associate professor at the National Center of Bioethics in Research and Health Care at Tuskegee University.

Miss Evers’ Boys is a movie based on the true story of the U.S. Public Health Service Untreated Syphilis Study conducted at Tuskegee from 1932 until 1972. 

The viewing will be held Thursday, Dec. 19, from 1:30 to 4:45 p.m. in the Wolstein Research Building auditorium (Room 1413).

Following the movie, Hodge will join CWRU panelists to discuss the ethical issues with the study.

The dialogue also will include:

  • Suzanne Rivera, vice president for research and technology management (moderator);
  • Monica Webb Hooper, professor with the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center; and
  • Jackson Wright, emeritus professor of medicine.

This event is worth six credits through the Continuing Research Education Credit Program.
