Kelvin Smith Library will host a SciFinder-n Lunch and Learn Session Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Clapp Hall, Room 405. Attendees can come to this session to learn more about SciFinder-n, the new generation tool for chemical research, and a separate product from SciFinder Classic.
Individuals who have SciFinder login credentials can use the same login ID and password to access SciFinder-n from Oct. 1, 2019.
Some highlights of this research tool are:
- Leverage of artificial intelligence and proprietary algorithms to provide relevant answers faster, enhancing search productivity;
- Inclusion of Retrosynthesis™, a new computer-aided synthetic design (CASD) module for automated retrosynthesis planning. It calculates approximate cost and estimated yield per result;
- Inclusion of MethodsNow™ database, full synthetic protocols from select journals;
- Inclusion of PatentPak®, an interactive patent mapping tool that links directly to the chemistry in patents;
- Added NMR spectral data from BIORAD; and
- Citation mapping capabilities.
Pizza and drinks will be provided at the event.
