4 places to view fireworks this weekend around Cleveland

Nothing says Independence Day quite like fireworks lighting up the sky. Many city-wide July 4 celebrations were canceled the past two years as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. But this year, many events will resume all across the Greater Cleveland area. Not sure where to head to watch the fireworks this weekend? Light Up the Lake

Downtown Cleveland

What better place to celebrate the 4th of July than on the banks of Lake Erie? The Downtown Cleveland Alliance will host a fireworks display, presented by FirstEnergy, that can be viewed from various locations along the lakeshore. Popular spots to see the show include Edgewater Reservation, The Flats, Voinovich Park, Whiskey Island and Wendy Park. Launching from ​​Port of Cleveland’s Dock 20, the display is expected to begin at 10 p.m.

Blossom Music Center

Cuyahoga Falls

Pair your fireworks with a performance by our neighbor, the Cleveland Orchestra, for a special July 4th celebration. The orchestra will perform its annual “A Salute to America” concert Sunday, July 3, and Monday, July 4. Led by conductor Loras John Schissel, the Blossom Festival Band will perform patriotic and Broadway favorites, an Armed Forces salute and more, with fireworks capping off the night. Tickets start at $25 for those 18+. Those under 18 can get free lawn tickets. Reserve your tickets.

Bay Days

Bay Village

Live on the west side? Consider watching Independence Day fireworks in Bay Village during the city’s annual Bay Days, taking place this weekend through July 4. In addition to fireworks Monday, July 4, at 9:45 p.m., Bay Days festivities will include a vintage baseball game, a car show, live music, carnival rides and more. Events will be held at Cahoon Memorial Park (27134 Lake Road).

City of Mentor Independence Day Celebration

Looking for an option on the city’s east side? Consider heading to the Mentor Civic Amphitheater (8600 Munson Road) Monday, July 4. Nationally known band The Verve Pipe will perform beginning at 8 p.m., with fireworks closing out the night. Attendees can bring a picnic to eat at the event or purchase concessions from vendors.
