3 things to do in Cleveland in November

Now that midterms and fall break have passed, we’re in the final stretch of the fall semester at Case Western Reserve University. But there’s still plenty to do around the CLE before classes end and winter break begins.

As the temperatures begin to drop and end-of-semester obligations take shape, we have a few suggestions for events that offer a refreshing break from the stress. Take a look below to see some of the fun happening in Cleveland throughout November.

Día de Muertos

Nov. 2

Engage in a Latin American tradition as the Cleveland Public Theatre hosts its 20th annual Día de Muertos celebration Saturday, Nov. 2, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the Gordon Square Arts District.

This vibrant event honors loved ones who have passed away with altar installations, Latin food, live music, an art market and other entertainment for guests of all ages. A skulls and skeletons procession will be held from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m., while most of the activities will take place throughout the day.

Cleveland Comedy Festival

Nov. 6–9

Lift your spirits at the annual Cleveland Comedy Festival Nov. 6–9. This celebration of comedy features a diverse lineup of local and national comedians. Acts will be held at several Cleveland establishments, with Forest City Brewery as the home site.

Turkey Trot

Nov. 28

Before you sit down for a meal on Thanksgiving Day, get moving during the annual Turkey Trot in Downtown Cleveland and Ohio City. 

Break out your running shoes for a 5K or 5-mile run. Even if you’re not a runner, there’s an option for you: a 1-mile walk.

All participants will receive a finisher medal, a long-sleeve shirt and refreshments. Coffee Mug awards will be given to top-finishers in the 5K and 5-mile races. There will be course music and entertainment at the starting and finish lines.
