CWRU UNICEF formally invites the CWRU and local community to the second annual UNICEF Gala, taking place Friday, April 5, in the Thwing Center Ballroom, from 6 to 9 p.m.
The theme this year is The Blue Moon Ball and is intended to celebrate the efforts of CWRU’s chapter and raise funding and awareness for projects aimed towards improving the lives of children around the world. This year, the group is raising funds for UNICEF USA and the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund to aid with their efforts for the children in Palestine, in addition to a village in the Dominican Republic that was devastated by a major fire.
The event will feature 13 performances that range from local bands, a capella, and dance groups, as well as art services from CWRU Figure Drawing and Henna Art Collective. Organizers will also be featuring a raffle with several prizes, including art pieces, and have diverse catering from several local restaurants.
Tickets are on sale for $6 on CampusGroups and will also be sold at the door, with 100% of the profits being donated to the chosen charities.
