Event extended: 17th annual Spartan Open takes on virtual format

The 17th annual Spartan Open will carry on this year in a new, virtual format. Case Western Reserve University Athletics has designed a new format so the tradition of playing a round of golf with friends while supporting the Spartans program can continue. The event has been extended through Aug. 16.

Tournament teams will be twosomes, but participants can create multiple teams if they’d like. To take part, register your team with CWRU and then download the 18 Birdies App for scoring. Make plans during the month of July to play on any course, anywhere, anytime. You cover your greens fees and your registration goes directly to support CWRU Athletics. Pick your 18-hole course in 18 Birdies. The app will have the course scorecard and your team will submit your score as you play your round. The leaderboard will track all teams throughout the month. Post pictures and comments through 18 Birdies while you play. Sponsors will have their logos and media postings through the app as well. A Spartan Open virtual awards ceremony will name the tournament winners and prize winners.
