Arthur Chu, an 11-time Jeopardy! champion and blogger for The Daily Beast, will be back on campus Friday, Feb. 20, for three events, all held in the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, Tinkham Veale University Center, suite 248.
The first will be “Becoming a Catalyst for Change in Digital Spaces,” presented by Arthur Chu and Alex Leslie from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
Most people want their digital presence to reflect the values they hold in other parts of their lives. However, abusive language and behavior grows in video games, online forums, comment sections, and all throughout digital footprints. The skills it takes to interrupt abuse in person could potentially be helpful in preventing harassment and abuse in digital spaces. Regardless of politics and beliefs, everyone can contribute to a kinder, more respectful community. Lunch will be provided at the event, which is open to all students. RSVP online.
“Chat with Chu!” will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Chu will be available to answer questions and speak with those who stop by. This event is open to all, and snacks will be provided.
Finally, “Arthur Chu: A Men’s Only Conversation About Sexual Misconduct” will be presented from 4 to 6:30 p.m. This discussion is open to male students, and dinner will be provided. RSVP online.
