Volunteer in the community through the CCEL Serves program

Student volunteering to clean up a parkThe Center for Civic Engagement & Learning (CCEL) coordinates daily service opportunities through its CCEL Serves program.

CCEL Serves student leaders take volunteer groups each week to local nonprofit sites and provide transportation to all volunteers. The program includes sites with a flexible commitment, where volunteers can sign up to serve once or as often as their schedules allow, as well as sites that require a weekly commitment for one semester.

CCEL Serves features approximately 20 service sites, offering such opportunities as:

  • Tutoring youth or adults;
  • Community gardening;
  • Sorting books, medical supplies or donated food; and
  • Serving a hot meal.

All sites are open to both undergraduate and graduate students. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is encouraged.

Sites will begin the week of Sept. 19.

Visit the CCEL Serves website for more information or to sign up.
