Volunteer this semester with the CCEL Serves program

Looking for more opportunities to volunteer this semester? Check out the Center for Civic Engagement & Learning’s CCEL Serves program.

CCEL Serves is designed to offer undergraduate and graduate students weekly opportunities to get involved in community service. CCEL Serves student leaders take volunteer groups each week to local nonprofit sites and provide transportation to all volunteers in the CCEL vans.

CCEL Serves includes sites with a flexible commitment—where volunteers can sign up to serve once or as often as their schedules allow—as well as Semester Serves sites, which require at least one semester of commitment.

All sites will begin the week of Jan. 29.

CCEL Serves flexible sites include the Cleveland Foodbank, Kids’ Book Bank, Community Meal Program, Mandarin Tutoring, Medwish International, Broadway Boys & Girls Club and Tails From the City: Cat Shelter.

Registration for flexible sites is available on OrgSync.

Semester-long sites involve tutoring youth, tutoring adults on the GED test, preparing taxes and more. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is encouraged.
