Alumni Authors Showcase & Reception

Kelvin Smith Library’s O’Neill Reading Room

Kelvin Smith Library will hold a showcase and reception to honor alumni publishers. A panel of alumni authors will share stories about their work and publishing. This will be followed by a brief presentation titled “Publishing 101: What You Need to Know” by a representative from a major publishing company. A book signing and reception will follow the panel. Guests may enter a drawing to win a $100 Barnes & Noble gift card.

An Afternoon with Tom Bachtell

Kelvin Smith Library will host alumnus Tom Bachtell (WRC ’80), caricaturist for The New Yorker. His distinctive drawings and caricatures appear each week in “The Talk of the Town” and other sections of The New Yorker, where he has been a regular contributor for 23 years.

A reception with light refreshments will immediately follow.

Trailblazers Reveal

All are invited to a reception to see the reveal of the subjects of a portrait initiative aimed at showcasing the contributions of Case Western Reserve University alumni of color and women.
