UCITE session: “Honoring LGBQ, Trans, and Gender Expansive Students”

Identifiers such as name, gender and personal pronouns are core factors to many students’ sense of self. The newest update to the Student Information System (SIS) includes fields for students to indicate personal pronouns, prefixes and gender.

In light of the update, the University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education will host Liz Roccoforte, director of the LGBT Center, for a session titled “Honoring LGBQ, Trans, and Gender Expansive Students.”

Roccoforte will discuss the changes to SIS and why the changes—and adapting to them—are important, and offer insight to resources and programming available to support the campus community.

This session will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. in Allen Memorial Medical Library’s Herrick Room.

Attendees should enter at the corner of Euclid Avenue and Adelbert Road.

Lunch will be provided at the session. RSVP to ucite@case.edu.
