Teaching and Learning Technologies to help faculty move work from Blackboard

With the adoption of Canvas as the learning management system at Case Western Reserve University, the previous system, Blackboard Learn, will be decommissioned Friday, June 1. After this date, individuals no longer will be able to access content in that system.

Teaching and Learning Technologies has expanded its training calendar to assist the Case Western Reserve University community in advancing Canvas skills and retrieving necessary Blackboard content, and to provide consultation on any and all Canvas needs.

Faculty can get help locating and saving their Blackboard data by contacting the University Technology ([U]Tech) Service Desk at help@case.edu, 216.368.4357 or help.case.edu; referring to the [U]Tech website; or attending Blackboard Blitz training drop-in sessions.

Canvas consultations

One-on-one Canvas consultations will continue through the summer as a chance for faculty and staff to reserve time with a Teaching and Learning Technologies team member to address specific concerns.

The last session of consultations will be held Thursday, May 24, at 10 a.m. in Sears Building, Room 200. Individuals must register in advance to participate. Sign up for a Canvas Consultation.

Email canvashelp@case.edu to schedule a consultation.

Blackboard Blitz

Blackboard Blitz training is designed to help faculty move student data out of Blackboard. Teaching and Learning Technologies will help individuals locate and download data from their Blackboard courses and save it on their computer for future use.

The last two drop-in training sessions will be held:

  • Wednesday, May 23, from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at Olin Hall, Room 313
  • Thursday, May 31, from noon to 12:30 p.m. at Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Room 040

Registration is not required for drop-in sessions. For more information, visit the training website at case.edu/utech/canvas/training/.
