Sociology’s Brian Gran elected to lead American Sociological Association’s human rights section

CWRU sociology professor Brian GranBrian K. Gran, associate professor of sociology, was chosen as chair elect of the American Sociological Association’s Section on Human Rights.

The section “seeks to promote and support critical, interdisciplinary, and international engagement with human rights scholarship, teaching and practice, as well as to foster human rights approaches to the sociological enterprise,” according to the association website.

Gran, who holds a secondary appointment in the School of Law, co-founded the section.
