“Shimmering Sonorities from San Marco: 17th century Italian music for trombones and strings”

Virtuoso trombonist Greg Ingles and his band of six trombone players from Boston University will join Case Western Reserve University’s Baroque Ensembles in a collaboration exploring the music for multiple instrumental choirs by Giovanni Gabrieli, Francesco Cavalli, and Antonio Bertali, to name a few.

This may be a once-in-a-lifetime chance to hear Gabrieli’s Canzona with 22 separate parts in five choirs—a true surround-sound experience.

This performance, called “Shimmering Sonorities from San Marco: 17th century Italian music for trombones and strings,” will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, at 4 p.m. in Harkness Chapel.
