SAGES lecturer Luke Reader compares United States today to Britain in the 1930s and 1940s

Luke Reader, a SAGES lecturer, compared the political rhetoric in the United States today to that of Britain in the 1930s and 1940s.

In an op-ed for History News Network, titled, “There Are Even More Parallels to the ‘30s and ‘40’s than You Suspected,” he explained the political situation during that period in Britain.

Reader also wrote about how, though similarities exist, there are also differences between Britain in the 1930s and 1940s and the United States today, stressing that insights can be drawn from history.
