Case Western Reserve University and Vanguard invite CWRU employees within five years of retirement to attend a session on retirement readiness Thursday, Sept. 22, at 3 p.m. in Crawford Hall, Room 720. Spouses are also welcome to attend.
This meeting will show employees how to use an online calculator to determine whether they will have sufficient income in retirement given their current retirement plan choices (such as contribution rate, investment allocation and intended retirement age).
The meeting also will cover Social Security claiming strategies, specifically how taking retirement benefits before full retirement age reduces lifetime Social Security benefits, and how delaying benefits up until age 70 increases lifetime benefit payments.
