Registration for Summer Session begins today for undergraduates through the Student Information System (SIS). This year, more than 90 courses in 30 fields of study, plus SAGES, are available.
Students can take advantage of 16 courses that are new to this year’s Summer Session. In addition, those interested in a study-abroad experience can select from special classes in Botswana, Cuba, Denmark or India.
As in past years, students can complete a full year of Introductory Physics (PHYS 115-116), General Physics (PHYS 121-122), Principles of Chemistry (CHEM 105-106), Organic Chemistry (CHEM 223-224) or Organic Chemistry Laboratory (CHEM 233-234) in a single summer.
Students have many reasons for enrolling in summer classes, but more than half do so to lighten their fall and spring course loads or to graduate early—and all save money, as tuition for classes numbered 1-399 is half price during the summer. Summer classes are also one way to stay on track for graduation: one-third of all Case Western Reserve students who complete their undergraduate degrees in four years take advantage of Summer Session courses.
May Term, a three-week intensive that begins immediately after spring finals, runs from May 13-31. Eighteen courses from the College of Arts and Sciences and Case School of Engineering are offered.
The regular Summer Session starts June 3 with eight-week, five-week and four-week courses. Additional Summer Session courses run for six weeks, beginning June 17, and for four weeks, beginning July 8.
On-campus housing is available for students registered for Summer Session.
