“Where to Publish? How to Select and Target Publishers for Graduate Students”

The fifth session of the “Increasing Your Scholarly Impact: Getting Publications Recognized” University Libraries Workshop Series will take place Thursday, Nov. 16, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Kelvin Smith Library, Room 215.

This session will provide an in-depth look at what matters most in targeting the best publishers for your work. Topics include:

  • Evaluating journals (impact factors, reputation, tiers, audience/readership);
  • Measuring relative impact factors of different journals;
  • Evaluating publishers (types, reputation, what they publish);
  • Comparing commercial, university and open access publishers; and
  • Trade vs. research monographs.
