Philosophy’s Jeremy Bendik-Keymer writes about socially engaged art

Jeremy Bendik-Keymer, the Elmer G. Beamer-Hubert H. Schneider Professor in Ethics, wrote an op-ed for e-flux conversations titled “Democracy as Relationship.”

In his piece, he explained how socially engaged art is an effective form of protest and how it can “show people as people living, working, and getting through conflict together.”

He also wrote: “What we need is a history of protest as an openness between people, for only that protest would be truly democratic.”
