Office of First-Year Experience and Family Programming

As Case Western Reserve University’s newest students arrive on campus for orientation, they’ll participate in a number of events and programs organized by the Office of First-Year Experience and Family Programming.

During our weeklong orientation, the office helps first-year students acclimate to campus through informative sessions, opportunities to meet their new classmates and exploration of resources offered at CWRU. Students participate in five on-campus rotations that cover campus safety, wellness, bystander intervention, academic integrity and diversity. Discover Cleveland welcomes them to their new city, bringing students to various cultural sites and landmarks like the West Side Market, Edgewater Beach and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Office of First-Year Experience and Family Programming’s responsibilities don’t end with orientation; they continue to help first-year students throughout the entire year by hosting events like the Asian Mid-Autumn Festival, Lunar New Year and Holi with the Center for International Affairs.

The office will soon turn its attention to homecoming and parents weekend, coordinating numerous events to ensure that students, family and alumni enjoy a full weekend at CWRU.
